A likeable new eatery that dishes out a hearty side helping of social consciousness to complement its tasty Thai temptations.
Mango Chili collaborates with the Dignity For Children Foundation to contribute meals to underprivileged kids each time customers eat here. It's a success so far, with estimates of more than 150 children fed on some days. This is set to be the first in a wider number of Mango Chili outlets in KL; the rest will support other communities through various charities & organisations.
Mango Chili's a Malaysian member of Bangkok's well-known COCA & Mango Tree F&B family; there's enough expertise here to create crowd-pleasing recipes like rice that's fried in green curry sauce for a special twist & served with slices of marinated beef.
The menu's extensive (soups, salads & spring rolls); highlights include chicken wings deliciously prepared with tom yam sauce ...
... & Pad Thai Ghai, stir-fried noodles with chicken in tamarind sauce. Prices are reasonable, similar to shopping mall outlets; plus, there's a nice offer of RM3 for all-you-can-eat jasmine rice for dine-in customers.
Tea & basic beverages are available, but nothing much stronger; Mango Chili is carving an image as a family-friendly venue.
